Microsoft Bids for Yahoo!

Like no one else has heard about this.  This mostly helps Google more than anyone else.  You can pretty much bet that MS will take whatever good things Yahoo! was doing and ruin it with their poor management.  

It also means that Gmail is officially going to become the #2 option for hosted webmail.  Right now Gmail lags Yahoo mail and Hotmail by a substantial margin.  How do you avoid MS when Yahoo mail and Hotmail combine?  Not much you can do but go to Gmail. 

This is probably the best outcome for Yahoo investors but it would be better for consumers if Yahoo got their act together as an independent company.
