Maybe BfaY was a success afterall.
Blog for a Year has been a very interesting journey for me. I was disappointed that we didn’t raise the funds to pay for the winner to blog for a year. Imagine my delight when she told me today that BfaY helped her get a job anyway!

There were so many deserving bloggers, and it’s truly an honor to win. I know you didn’t raise the money that you had hoped, but you still did a fine job running the contest and gave many of us a lot of exposure along the way.
Actually, because of the contest, someone saw my profile and offered me a job back at the beginning of the summer. I have been working with the company since then and it has really been wonderful. So, you didn’t pay me a year’s salary, but because of your contest I have been earning a nice salary with my writing for a few months already. So, as far as I’m concerned, the contest was a fabulous success and even if I didn’t come in first place, I still won by getting a job that I love and that pays well.
Thanks again for everything. I wanted you to know that the contest greatly improved my life. I even have a brand new car now! …. I would have to say your experiment was a success because it opened up an opportunity for me and I now have a regular, stable income that I wouldn’t have it if I had not entered the contest.
Wow! Talk about making my day! Thanks Gerri. :-)
