Everyone is in a tizzy today
about a new report that states 95% of users have never tried of web-based office suites. ReadWriteWeb is trying to justify it.  TechCrunch questioned the validity of the data.

I think the study is probably representative of the truth: most people still won’t use web software, primarily because web software sucks.  It’s not fast enough, not smooth enough, and not feature rich enough to compete with many desktop packages.

Web-software’s day is coming though.  It is following the same trajectory desktop software before it. (SproutCore is one of the contributing factors here, IMO.)
